Bang Bang Sauce — Sweet, spicy and creamy bang bang sauce made with mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce and sriracha Save to Pinterest

Bang bang sauce is a creamy, sweet-and-spicy dip best known for coating crispy shrimp. It needs only four ingredients and five minutes.

Adjust the sriracha to your taste: the sweet chili sauce already brings a gentle heat.

Ingredient substitutions

  • Sriracha → chili garlic sauce
  • Honey → maple syrup
  • Rice vinegar → lime juice

Flavor variations

  • Lighter: replace half the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Garlicky: add 1 small grated garlic clove.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Toss freshly fried or air-fried shrimp in the sauce just before serving so the coating stays crisp.

Storage and food safety

  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

What to serve it with

  • Crispy shrimp and fried chicken bites
  • Tacos and rice bowls
  • Fries and spring rolls
